2016 Devils

The New Jersey Devils had an excellent season this year, and the team is hoping to bring home the Stanley Cup.  If they can beat the Los Angeles Kings, then the Devils will win the trophy. The Devils should also have a solid team next season. The Devils ranked 15th in the NHL in goals per game this season, averaging 2.6 goals per game.  Ilya Kovalchuk (LW) led the team in scoring during the season with 37 goals.  He plays a huge role on this team, and the veteran hopes he can win a Stanley  Cup.  Another big piece on this team is Patrik Elias (C).  Elias led the team with 52 assists in his 15th season in the NHL. The Devils need Elias to keep leading the team and racking up assists.  The Devils ranked 8th in goals against this season, averaging only 2.5 goals against per game.  Johan Hedberg (G) and Martin Brodeur (G) played well in goal.  Hedberg had a save percentage of .918, while Brodeur had a save percentage of .908.  The Devils hope the two goalies can keep playing well. The Devils have a solid group of players.  But, the team does not want to walk away without the Stanley Cup, and they still hope to win it this year.
