Utah 2012 Preview
The Utes had a slow start but finished strong in 2011. At one point in 2011 Utah was 3-4 overall and was 0-4 in conference play. Then Utah won five of their last six games to finish 8-5. Running back John White gained 1,519 yards and scored 15 touchdowns. Jordan Wynn and Jon Hayes shared the quarterback position in 2011. Hayes started the last nine game of the season. The Utah defense was very good against the run only giving up 3 yards per carry. Defensive tackle Star Lotulelei had an outstanding season. Utah has 5 starters returning on offense and 7 on defense. The Utes will be a contender for the PAC-12 South title. Their offense will be potent with White, Wynn, and Hayes returning. The top five receivers from 2011 will be back. The defense should be outstanding. Lotulelei is a candidate to be the first pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. A 10 win season is likely for the Utes and if USC slips Utah could win the division.
