McNeese State Cowboys

The McNeese State Cowboys is the name for the men and women's intercollegiate athletic teams at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The 14 combined varsity men and women's sports teams are members of the NCAA Division 1 and they compete in the Southland Conference. The men field teams in baseball, basketball, football, golf, cross-country, indoor, and outdoor track & field. The women field teams in basketball, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, cross-country, indoor and outdoor track & field. 
The McNeese State Cowboys and Cowgirls athletic teams can be seen playing at local venues of Cowboy Stadium, Cowboy Diamond, Cowgirl Field, and Burton Coliseum. Fans fill the stands in the McNeese State's colors of blue and gold to show off their Cowboy and Cowgirl pride. Also in attendance at sporting events for McNeese, is Rowdy, the mascot.
