Cavaliers FootballThe Virginia Cavaliers of the ACC finished the 2011 season with an 8-5 record, closing the season with a 43-24 loss to then #25 Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Bowl. Virginia finished second in the ACC's Coastal Division, with a 5-3 conference record. Highlights of the 2011 campaign included an exciting overtime victory over Idaho, an upset of then #12 Georgia Tech on October 15, and a close triumph against then #25 Florida State on November 19.Among the key returning players for the Cavaliers are quarterback Michael Rocco, running back Perry Jones, running back Kevin Parks, wide receiver Tim Smith, left tackle Oday Aboushi, defensive tackle Will Hill, linebacker Steve Greer, linebacker LaRoy Reynolds and cornerback Demetrious Nicholson. Virginia has several quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including defensive end Eli Harold (Virginia), linebacker Kwontie Moore (Virginia), defensive end Michael Moore (Maryland), multi-position athlete Demeitre Brim (Florida) and quarterback Greyson Lambert (Georgia). The 2012 Virginia schedule features a number of great matchups, among them are a battle with Penn State of the Big Ten, another tough non-conference foe in TCU on September 22, and late-season ACC matchups with Wake Forest and Virginia Tech.
