American Idiot

Look at That American Idiot....Green Day! Most people in the US have heard of this rather controversial band, and in fact, most-to-all have heard at least one of their songs. One of the most famous of their songs, and probably one that most people have heard, is called American Idiot.  American Idiot is about the USA's rise to power, and the problems that the nation is experiencing right now. It has political undertones. Now,  American Idiot has been turned into a rather surprisingly well-done musical play, and even made its way onto Broadway in 2010. Now, you can see what all of the rave reviews and positive fuss is about by seeing the radical show for yourself! The musical of  American Idiot was originally a collaboration between the band Green Day, and producer Michael Mayer. Swimming in positive reviews and rave feedback, anyone who enjoys a good show from Broadway ought to come and see the show for him- or herself.   Although when the show was first launched it received some mixed reviews from critics, it received a very god review from The New York Times, which, let's be frank, is one of the most influential newspapers in the country, and perhaps even in the world. Beyond this praise,  American Idiot also received numerous awards for its creativity and ingenuity, such as two Tony awards, one for best scenic design of a musical, and the other for best lighting design for a musical. It was so well-done, in fact, that it was even nominated for best musical overall, though it did not win in this category.   If you enjoy a show that does not follow the crowd, employs a live band (though not Green Day), and has a proven track record for quality, then  American Idiot is most certainly a show that you cannot miss.
