They hope that the can improve and be more competitive next season. The Oilers ranked 19th in the NHL in goals, averaging 2.5 goals per game. They have some young players that they hope can score more goals as they develop. One of those players is Jordan Eberle (RW). The 22-year-old led the team with 34 goals and 42 assists this year, and the Oilers hope he can score even more next season. Another player with a lot of potential is Taylor Hall (LW). The 20-year-old scored 27 goals and had 26 assists (second-most on the team) this season. Look for these two players to lead the team again next year. The Oilers ranked 23rd in the NHL in goals against this season. They have two quality goalies. Nikolai Khabibulin (G), the veteran, had a save percentage of .910 and a goals against average of 2.65 in his 16th season in the league. Devan Dubnyk (G) had a save percentage of .914 in his 3rd season. Overall, the Edmonton Oilers should improve next season, as they have a lot of young players that they hope will develop. Look for them to be more competitive in the future. |
