Washington 2012 Preview
The Washington Huskies continue to improve under the leadership of coach Steve Sarkisian as they posted their second straight 7=6 season. Offense was not a problem for Washington in 2011. The Huskies averaged 33 points a game. Quarterback Keith Price emerged as a star he completed 66 percent of his passes for 33 touchdowns. Running back Chris Polk rushed for 1,488 yards and 12 touchdowns. he moved on to the NFL. The defense had problems all season. Washington gave up 35 points a game and gave up 67 to Baylor in the Alamo Bowl.
The Huskies have to replace Polk and return 6 starters on offense. A new defense coordinator Justin Wilcox has been hired and he will have his hands full improving Washington's defense. Price will lead the offense but a running game must be established for him to match his 2011 totals. A tough early schedule will prevent Washington from getting off to a quick start. The Huskies should finish strong and go to their third straight bowl game.
