However, the Canucks were beaten by the Los Angeles Kings in the Western Conference Quarterfinals. They hope that they can have more success in the playoffs next season, and make a run at the Stanley Cup. The Canucks ranked 5th in the NHL in goals per game, averaging 2.9 goals per game. Daniel Sedin (LW) led the team in goals with 30. He also had 37 assists this season. Henrik Sedin (C) also had a terrific season, leading the team with 67 assists. These two are outstanding goal scorers that will be dominant on the offensive end again next season. Alex Burrows (RW) pitched in with 28 goals and 24 assists. Defensively, the Canucks played well too, ranking 4th in the NHL in goals against. Cory Schneider (G) had a goals against average of 1.96, and a save percentage of .937. Roberto Luongo (G) also played well, earning a save percentage of .919. Expect these two goalies to be solid next season. The Vancouver Canucks had a great team, but they fell short in the playoffs. Look for them to regroup and be back in the playoffs again next season. |
