The Penguins were defeated by the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, but they team knows that they have the talent to be successful. They hope that they can make a run for the Stanley Cup next season. The offense for the Penguins was stellar, ranking 1st in the NHL in goals per game. As a team, the Penguins averaged 3.3 goals per game, and they have plenty of talented weapons that can score goals. Evgeni Malkin (C) led the team in goals and assists, with 50 of each on the season. Malkin just finished his 5th season in the NHL, and the Penguins hope that his 6th season will be even more productive. Sidney Crosby (C) may have only scored 8 goals this year, but he had 29 assists. Look for Crosby to return to form next season and score a ton of goals. The Penguins know that if Crosby plays well, then they will always have a chance. Overall, the Penguins have enough talent to win games, but they will need better production from some of their players. If Crosby can score more goals next season, then the Penguins will be fighting deep into the playoffs. |
