The Giants joined the NFL in 1925 along with five other teams; they are the only team that still exists. The team plays its home games in MetLife Stadium, which it shares with the New York Jets.
The Giants have won eight NFL titles, four in the pre Super Bowl era and four since the advent of the Super Bowl, this ranks third behind the Packers( 13) and the Bears( 9 ). The Giants heated rivalry with the Philadelphia Eagles dates back to 1933, and has been called one of the best rivalries in the 21st century. Between 1964 and 1980, the franchise would miss the post season and had a losing record 12 of those 17 years. The team has only had three periods in which it has gone more than three seasons without making the post season, 1928-32, 1951-55, and 1964-80.
In 2007, the Giants entered the Super Bowl as 12-point underdogs to the 18-0 Patriots. Eli Manning and the Giants would pull off one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history, beating the Patriots 17-14 and denying them the first 19-0 perfect season. In 2011, the Giants would face off against the Patriots and the Giants would come away victorious with a 21-17 win once again. In 2012, the Giants posted a 9-7 record and barely missed the playoffs, keep an eye on them to be in the hunt again next year.

The New York Giants surprised everyone when they won the Super Bowl last season. The team went 9-7 during the regular season, but they peaked at just the right time. The Giants hope to continue their success this season. The offense struggled at times in 2011, and ranked 32nd in rushing yards per game. Ahmad Bradshaw (RB) ran for just 659 yards, but he returns this year looking to improve his numbers. Eli Manning (QB) will lead the team again in 2012. Manning threw for almost 5,000 yards and had 29 touchdown passes in 2011. He will be throwing to some athletic receivers in Victor Cruz (WR) and Hakeem Nicks (WR). The defense was not dominant last season either. The Giants' defense ranked 29th in pass defense and 19th in run defense. Antrel Rolle (S) returns in 2012 after leading the team with 96 tackles. Corey Webster (CB) will also be back this season after having 6 interceptions in 2011. The Giants did not look dominant during the 2011 season, but they started playing well in the playoffs. If they can keep their team healthy, then they could have another playoff run in them.
