The Sabres have talent on the team, and they hope that they can have more success next season. The Sabres averaged 2.6 goals per game this season, 17th most in the NHL. They will need to score more next year, and they will rely on a solid group of veteran players. Jason Pominville (RW) led the team all year long. In his 7th season in the NHL, Pominville led the team with 30 goals and 43 assists. Thomas Vanek (LW) also had a solid year, scoring 26 goals and adding 35 assists. Pominville and Vanek will need to keep playing well together next season if the Sabres are going to make the playoffs. Defensively, the Sabres ranked 18th, allowing 2.7 goals against per game. The veteran goalie, Ryan Miller (G), had a save percentage of .916. The Sabres also have a good young goalie in Jhonas Enroth (G). In his second season, Enroth played in 26 games and had a save percentage of .917. Look for him to keep improving next season. The Buffalo Sabres just missed the playoffs this year. They hope that they can win more games and make the postseason next season. |
