Northern Illinois Huskies

NIU, or Northern Illinois University is home to the Northern Illinois Huskies intercollegiate athletic teams.  As participating members of the NCAA's Division 1 the Huskies compete in the Mid-American Conference. The seven varsity athletic teams for men include baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer, tennis, and wrestling. The nine varsity athletic teams for women include basketball, cross-country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field, and volleyball.
Some of the first class athletic facilities at Northern Illinois University where you can see the Huskies compete include, the Convocation Center, Ralph McKinzie, Mary M. Bell Field, Victor E. Court, and Huskie Stadium. Victor E. Huskie is the school's mascot and a cardinal red and black are the official NIU Huskies colors.
