The Flames hope that they can win more next season. Offensively, the Flames averaged 2.4 goals per game. They were led by veterans that have a lot of experience in the league. Jarome Iginla (RW) played well in his 14th season, leading the team with 32 goals. Iginla also had 35 assists for the year. Olli Jokinen (C) was solid this year too, leading the team with 38 assists, and pitching in 23 goals. These two veterans will need to lead the team again next year. On the defensive side, the Flames ranked 13th in the NHL in goals against, allowing an average of 2.6 goals against per game. The veteran goalie Miikka Kiprusoff (G) was one of the main reasons for this. In his 10th season in the NHL, Kiprusoff had a save percentage of .921 and a goals against average of 2.35. Expect him to be solid again next season. Overall, the Flames have a lot of experience on the team. They hope that they can put the pieces together in the offseason and win more games next season. |
