Wyoming finished sixth in the Mountain West, with a 6-8 conference record. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included wins against South Dakota, Louisiana Tech, Colorado, Air Force, Colorado State, Boise State (twice), and perhaps the Cowboys' best victory of the year, a 68-66 upset against then #13 UNLV on February 4.Among the key returning players for the Cowboys are 6-7 senior Leonard Washington, 6-4 senior Luke Martinez, 6-7 sophomore Larry Nance, 5-9 senior Derrious Gilmore and 6-2 sophomore Riley Grabau. Wyoming has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-8 Austin Haldorson, 6-1 Josh Adams, 6-9 Derek Cooke, 6-5 Jason McManamen and 6-10 Matt Sellers.
