West Virginia finished eighth in the Big East, with a 9-9 record in conference play. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included getting off to a 9-2 early start, and quality wins against the likes of Kansas State, Miami (FL), then #9 Georgetown, and excellent performances in close defeats to then #4 Syracuse and then #7 Baylor.Among the key returning players for the Mountaineers are 6-10 senior Aaric Murray (transfer), 6-1 sophomore Gary Browne, 5-11 sophomore Jabarie Hinds, 6-0 junior Juwan Staten (transfer), 6-10 sophomore Kevin Noreen, 6-5 sophomore Aaron Brown, 6-9 senior Deniz Kilicli and 6-8 senior Dominique Rutledge. West Virginia has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-9 Elijah Macon, 6-5 Terry Henderson and 6-3 Eron Harris.
