UCLA finished second in the Pac-12's South Division, with a 5-4 conference record. Highlights of the 2011 campaign included a victory over in-state rival California, an upset of then #19 Arizona State (29-28), and a drubbing of Colorado in November. Among the key returning players for the Bruins are quarterback Kevin Prince, quarterback Richard Brehaut, running back Johnathan Franklin, tight end Joseph Fauria, punter Jeff Locke, linebacker Pat Larimore, linebacker Eric Kendricks, linebacker Jordan Zumwalt and defensive back Aaron Hester. UCLA has several quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including multi-position athlete Devin Fuller (New Jersey), defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy (California), quarterback T.J. Millweard (Texas), cornerback Ishmael Adams (California) and linebacker Aaron Porter (California). The 2012 UCLA schedule features a number of great matchups, among them are a non-conference clash with Nebraska on September 8, another quality pre-Pac-12 opponent in Houston, and conference games with Arizona State on October 27 and UCLA's annual battle with cross-town rival USC. UCLA 2012 Preview

Jim Mora comes to Westwood from the NFL to take over the Bruin program. Because of the ineligibility of USC to play in the PAC-12 title game UCLA won the PAC-12 South with a 6-6 record in 2011. The Bruins lost the title game to Oregon and the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl game to Illinois to finish 6-8. Junior quarterbacks Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut shared the position in 2011. Leading rusher Jonathan Franklin gained 976 yards in 2011. The defense struggles in 2011. The Bruins gave up 31 points and over 400 yards a game. Of the new coaches in the PAC-12Mora has the most immediate talent at hand. Mora will get the most out of it. He is a no nonsense coach that will not accept lack of effort. There is some talent to work with and with two experienced senior quarterbacks and Jonathan Franklin returning a respectable offense is expected.  The defense really needs work but Mora is a defensive minded coach. UCLA will match last year's win total.
