2012 Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs finished the season with a record of 35-37-10, and finished towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference.  They hope that they can improve next year and win more games. On the offensive side, Phil Kessiel (RW) led the team.  Kessel scored a team high 37 goals in his 5th season in the NHL.  He also had the most assists on the team with 45.  The Toronto Maple Leafs will rely heavily on him again next season. Mikhail Grabovski (C) and Joffrey Lupul (LW) were the next best offensive weapons for the Maple Leafs.  Lupul scored 25 goals and had 42 assists, while Grabovski scores 23 goals and had 28 assists.  Defensively, the Maple Leafs ranked 29th in the NHL in goals against, averaging 3.2 goals against per game.  Jonas Gustavsson (G) hopes to improve this statistic next season.  Gustavsson has a lot of potential and had a save percentage of .902 in his second season in the league. Expect him to keep improving next year. Overall, the Maple Leafs have some solid players.  If they can play better defensively, then they will be more competitive.
