2012 Tennessee Titans

In 2011, the Tennessee Titans finished second in the AFC South, missing a wildcard spot by a tiebreaker to the Bengals.  The Titans hope to win more games this season and make the playoffs.  The run game was not as strong as it had been in recent years, ranking 31st in yards per game. Chris Johnson (RB) looks to bounce back in 2012 after running for a career low 1,047 yards. Matt Hasselbeck (QB) is now 36-years-old, but he completed 61.6% of his passes last season and threw for over 3,500 yards and 18 touchdowns.  He should have another solid year.  If not, Jake Locker (QB) is a great young quarterback that has potential.  Locker will be fun to watch in the future. The Titans' defense was mediocre last season, ranking 14th in passing yards against, and 24th in rushing yard against.  They will need to play much better this year if the team wants to win more games.  Jason McCourty (CB) led the team with 80 solo tackles and had 2 interceptions in 2011.  In his fourth year out of Rutgers, the 24-year-old will need to lead this defense again this season. Overall, if the running game and Chris Johnson can return to their former glory, then the Titans should be competitive this season.  They will have their hands full with the division rival Texans.
