They hope that they can have more success next season and win more games. Offensively, the Lightning were solid. As a team, they averaged 2.8 goals per game, which was 8th highest in the NHL. In just his 3rd year in the league, Steven Stamkos (C) scored a team high 60 goals. He also had 37 assists, and the Lightning have high expectations for this young player. Look for him to keep improving and score even more next year. Stamkos was complimented by veteran Martin St. Louis (RW). St. Louis led the team with 49 assists in his 12th season. He also had 25 goals scored. On the defensive side, the Lightning struggled, averaging 3.4 goals against per game, the highest in the NHL. They know that if they can improve their defense, then they will be able to win a lot more games. They have two veteran goalies in Mathieu Garon (G) and Dwayne Roloson (G) that will look to stop the puck more often next year. The Tampa Bay Lightning know how to score goals. If they can play better defense, then they should make the playoffs next season. |
