Stanford Cardinal

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Stanford University is the home to the athletic teams called the Stanford Cardinal. The Cardinal is a member of the NCAA Division 1 and competes in the Pacific-12 Conference. The men field teams in baseball, basketball, cross-country, fencing, football, golf, gymnastics, rowing, sailing, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, volleyball, water polo, and wrestling. The women field teams in basketball, cross-country, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, lacrosse, rowing, lightweight rowing, sailing, soccer, softball, squash, swimming & diving, synchronized swimming, tennis, track & field, volleyball, and water polo. 
The Stanford Cardinal, has no official mascot, although the "Tree" associated with the Band does perform at sporting events. The official colors of cardinal and white, is where the Stanford got its nickname. With a wide array of varsity sports teams, Stanford has numerous athletic facilities. Some of these facilities include the Avery Aquatic Center, Boyd & Jill Smith Family Stadium, Cobb Track at Angell Field, Klein Field at Sunken Diamond, Maples Pavilion, and Stanford Stadium.
