San Diego State took second place in the Mountain West, with a 10-4 conference record. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included wins against USC, Long Beach State, then #23 Arizona, then #23 California, cross-town rival San Diego, and then #12 UNLV on January 14.Among the key returning players for the Aztecs are 6-2 senior Chase Tapley, 6-5 junior Jamaal Franklin, 6-3 junior Xavier Thames, 6-7 junior Dwayne Polee (transfer), 6-8 senior Deshawn Stephens, 6-2 junior LaBradford Franklin and 6-5 senior James Rahon. San Diego State has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-8 Winston Shepard, 6-9 Skylar Spencer and 6-6 Matt Shrigley.
