Pittsburgh took thirteenth place in the Big East, with a 5-13 conference record. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included an upset win against then #10 Georgetown on January 28, non-conference victories over Tennessee and Oklahoma State, and defeats of Wofford, Princeton and Butler on their way to the CBI Championship Series.Among the key returning players for the Panthers are 6-5 junior Lamar Patterson, 5-11 senior Tray Woodall, 6-9 junior Talib Zanna, 6-1 sophomore John Johnson, 6-6 junior J.J. Moore, 6-9 senior Dante Taylor and 6-1 sophomore John Johnson. Pittsburgh has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-10 Steven Adams, 6-3 James Robinson and 6-5 Chris Jones.
