Penn State finished the season in last place in the Big Ten, with a 4-14 conference record. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included wins over South Florida, Boston College, Purdue, Nebraska, Iowa, and their biggest win of the season, a 54-52 upset of then #25 Illinois on January 19.Among the key returning players for the Nittany Lions are 6-1 senior Tim Frazier, 6-4 junior D.J. Newbill (transfer), 6-4 junior Jermaine Marshall, 6-8 sophomore Ross Travis, 6-8 junior Billy Oliver and 6-9 junior Sasa Borovnjak. Penn State has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-3 Akosa Maduegbunam and 6-6 Brandon Taylor.
