Oregon 2012 Preview
The Ducks finished 12-2 won the inaugural PAC-12 championship game and the Rose Bowl in 2011. The Oregon offense was outstanding. The only team to slow down the Ducks was LSU in the opening game. LaMichael James rushed for 1,805 yards and Damon Thomas threw for 33 touchdowns. Both left early for the NFL. Wide receiver De'Anthony Thomas rushed for 595 yards and averaged almost 11 yards a carry. He was also the teams leading receiver with 46 catches. Backup running back Kenjon Barner gained 939 yards. With this much firepower the defense just had to be average and it was in 2011. Oregon gave up 24 points a game.
The Ducks only return 4 starters on offense but there is enough talent left over to field another potent offense. Bryan Bennett is expected to be the starting quarterback. With Barner in backfield and Thomas at wide receiver scoring should not be a problem. The defense returns 7 starters and must improve for Oregon to match last season's success. Oregon should have enough to win the PAC-12 North and reach the title game for the second straight season. The Ducks should win 10 games this season.
