Northwestern finished in seventh place in the Big Ten, with an 8-10 record in the conference. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included pre-conference victories against LSU, Tulsa, Seton Hall and Georgia Tech, and Big Ten wins over Iowa (twice), Nebraska, Illinois, and the Wildcats' best win of the year, an 81-74 upset of then #7 Michigan State on January 14.Among the key returning players for the Wildcats are 6-1 sophomore Dave Sobolewski, 6-5 senior Drew Crawford, 6-4 senior Reggie Hearn, 6-3 senior Alex Marcotullio, 6-9 senior Nikola Cerina (transfer) and 6-5 junior JerShon Cobb. Northwestern has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-7 Kale Abrahamson, 6-11 Alex Olah and 6-6 Sanjay Lumpkin.
