North Carolina State finished fifth in the ACC last season, with a 9-7 conference record. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included a win over Maryland on January 8, a four-game winning streak in February-March (the victims included Miami (FL), Virginia Tech, Boston College and Virginia), and victories against San Diego State and Georgetown in the NCAA Tournament.Among the key returning players for the Wolfpack are 6-5 junior Lorenzo Brown, 6-6 senior Scott Wood, 6-8 junior C.J. Leslie, 6-8 senior Richard Howell and 6-9 senior DeShawn Painter. North Carolina State has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-4 Rodney Purvis, 6-7 T.J.
