2012 Nashville Predators

The Nashville Predators finished the year near the top of the Western Conference with a record of 48-26-8.  However, the team was defeated by the Phoenix Coyotes in the Western Conference Semifinals.  They hope to be back in the playoffs again next season. The Predators ranked 8th in the NHL in goals per game, averaging 2.8 goals every time that they stepped on the ice. They were also ranked first in power play percentage (21.6 percent). 3rd year player Patric Hornqvist (RW) led the team in goals with 27.  He also had 16 assists on the year. The veteran Martin Erat (RW) was also solid this season.  Erat had 39 assists and 19 goals this year, and the Predators expect him to play well again next season. The Predators also ranked 8th in the NHL in goals against per game.  Pekka Rinne (G) was exceptional this season.  The 6'5" goalie had a save percentage of .923 and a goals against average of 2.39 in his fifth season in the NHL.  Look for Rinne to be solid again next year.  Although they fell short in the playoffs, the Predators have a lot of talent on the team.  They hope that they will be fighting in the playoffs again next season.
