The Bulldogs played many of their top 2011 opponents to competitive games. State lost to South Carolina by 2 and the LSU, Georgia, and Alabama games were closer than the score indicated. The Bulldogs finished with a 7-6 record in 2011. The defense carried the team in 2011 while the offense struggled. State only returns only 4 starters on offense and only one starter on the offensive line. The Bulldogs will install a pass friendly offense in 2012. The defense returns 7 starters and will have to carry the offense again in 2012. The schedule is friendly early and another 7 win season is likely. |
