2012 Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins won just six games last season, good enough to tie for last place in the AFC East.  The Dolphins will need to get better on both sides of the ball if they want to compete in 2012. The Dolphins made a bold statement when they took Ryan Tannehill (QB) from Texas A&M in the first-round of the 2012 draft. But, owner Stephen Ross says that he expects Matt Moore to be the starter.  The Dolphins also signed David Garrard (QB), so the competition at the quarterback position should be interesting. The team will need one of these guys to step up big in 2012.  If Reggie Bush stays healthy, he will provide some explosiveness for this offense. Bush had 1,086 rushing yards in 2011. The Miami Dolphins' defense ranked 3rd against the run in 2011, allowing only 95.6 yards per game. But their pass defense ranked 25th. If the Dolphins want to compete, they will have to find a way to slow down their opponent's passing attack. If the Miami Dolphins can find a solid starting quarterback, then the offense may be better off in 2012. But the defense will be the strength of this team. They will need to find a way to slow down the high-octane passing attacks of the Patriots.
