Memphis finished first in Conference USA last season, with a 13-3 conference record. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included victories over Tennessee (in double-overtime), Miami (FL), Tennessee (a second time), Southern Miss, Marshall (three times), and a February 4 conquest of Xavier, 72-68.Among the key returning players for the Tigers are 6-8 junior Tarik Black, 6-4 junior Chris Crawford, 6-0 junior Joe Jackson, 6-2 junior Antonio Barton, 6-6 sophomore Adonis Thomas, 6-5 senior D.J. Stephens, 6-2 senior Charles Carmouche (transfer), 6-8 senior Ferrakohn Hall and 6-10 senior Stan Simpson. Memphis has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-8 Shaquille Goodwin and 6-5 Damien Wilson.
