Meet Me In St. Louis
A 1944 masterpiece, Meet Me in St. Louis is a musical play that is truly timeless, amusing, melancholic, touching and filled with romance. Meet Me in St. Louis is also considered as one of the greatest musicals of all-time. The story revolved around a suburban family that lived in a posh Edwardian home at 5135 Kensington Avenue in St. Louis in circa 1903. This panoramic and romantic masterwork set the stage for the start of the great run of MGM musicals and eventually turned out to be the next bis how after the ageless "Gone with the Wind," movie that was rolled out in 1939. The musical has received four Oscar nominations. There are twelve stories that stand for each of the twelve months in a year that are filled with awesome musical performances. The play shunned away from excessive showmanship like what other backstage song or dance production do. The storyis set in the city of St. Louis and the well-off Smith family are on the brink of hosting the coming of the fabulous 1904 World's Fair. But the Smith's head of the family is summoned to work in New York because of a job promotion. The relocation of the family could permanently change the course of the family member's lives, but in the end the family decided to stay in St. Louis and thus the plot is born. The songs and the superb routines in Meet Me in St. Louis are meticulously included into the story of the family's everyday life, and it is utilized to press forward the action and story interweaving of different seasons of the year. This play is fantastic and a must see for any theater lover.
