2012-2013 Minutemen Basketball

The Massachusetts Minutemen of the Atlantic 10 finished the 2011-12 season with a 25-12 record, ending the year with a 74-64 defeat at the hands of Stanford in the NIT Tournament. Massachusetts finished in fifth place in the Atlantic 10, with a 9-7 record in the conference. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included six and four-game winning streaks that included victories against Boston College, Eastern Carolina and Fordham (among others), NIT wins over Mississippi State and Seton Hall, and two very close losses to conference power Temple.
Among the key returning players for the Minutemen are 5-9 junior Chaz Williams, 6-8 junior Raphiael Putney, 6-5 junior Jesse Morgan, 6-7 senior Terrell Vinson, 6-8 sophomore Maxie Esho, 6-9 sophomore Cady Lalanne, 6-5 senior Javorn Farrell, 6-8 senior Sampson Carter (transfer) and 6-5 senior Freddie Riley.
Massachusetts has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 7-1 Isaac Freeman, 6-8 Tyler Bergantino and 6-1 Trey Davis.
