Louisville finished seventh in the Big East, with a 10-8 conference record. Highlights of the 2011-12 campaign included wins over then #19 Vanderbilt, then #9 Marquette, then #23 Notre Dame, and an NCAA Tournament run that included victories against Davidson, New Mexico, Michigan State and Florida.Among the key returning players for the Cardinals are 6-10 junior Gorgui Dieng, 6-7 sophomore Chane Behanan, 6-0 junior Russ Smith, 6-5 senior Luke Hancock (transfer), 5-11 senior Peyton Siva, 6-4 senior Mike Marra (transfer) and 6-8 senior Jared Swopshire. Louisville has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 7-0 Robert Upshaw and 6-0 Terry Rozier.
