2011 Jayhawks Football Season Over Team Looks To Charlie Weis
New coach Charlie Weis takes over a Jayhawk team that finished 2-10 overall and winless in the Big 12. There is not much talent here. The defense finished last in the nation in total defense and in scoring defense. Defensive coordinator Dave Campo comes to Kansas from the Dallas Cowboys and it will take every ounce of creativity for him to have any kind of defense. One bright spot on offense is the transfer of former Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist to Kansas and he is eligible in 2012.
This is at least a three year rebuilding job at to get to bowl eligibility. Five years to contend for the Big 12 title. The defense was the worst in the nation and it returns only four starters. Five starters return on a offense that finished near the bottom in the nation in passing and total offense. Charlie Weis may get lucky and win three games overall and one in the Big 12 anything more than that and he should be Big 12 coach of the year.
