Indiana landed in the cellar of the Big Ten's Leaders Division, with an 0-8 conference record. Highlights of the 2011 campaign included their victory over the SCSU Bulldogs, a close 34-31 loss against heavily-favored Virginia on September 10, and highly competitive performances versus Penn State and rival Purdue. Among the key returning players for the Hoosiers are quarterback Tre Roberson, running back Stephen Houston, wide receiver Kofi Hughes, kicker Mitch Ewald, wide receiver/kick returner Shane Wynn, safety Mark Murphy, cornerback Greg Heban and defensive tackle Adam Replogle. Indiana has several quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including quarterback Nate Sudfeld (California), linebacker Jordan Wallace (Indiana), offensive guard Dan Feeney (Illinois), linebacker Nick Mangieri (Illinois) and wide receiver Kevin Davis (Indiana). The 2012 Indiana schedule features a number of great matchups, among them are battles against in-state schools Indiana State and Ball State, as well as  Big Ten matchups with Michigan State on October 6, Ohio State on October 10, and late-season games against Wisconsin and Purdue. Indiana 2011 Football Season Review

Indiana finished 1-11 in 2011 and their only win was against 1-AA South Carolina State. Head Coach Kevin Wilson alternated quarterbacks last season and it seems like he has found one in Tre Robertson. Robertson showed at times like he has the stuff to run Wilson's wide open offense. Running back Stephan Houston rushed for 811 yards and averaged over 5 yards a carry.  The defense was a disaster as the Hoosiers could not match up physically with the other Big Ten teams.

Wilson played a lot of young players in 2011 and hopes that experience will mean better days for Indiana in 2012. Robertson and Houston are going to be solid players but the passing game overall has to improve. Wilson went out and recruited some JUCO talent on defense and along with the experience the young players gained last season the Hoosiers look to be an improved squad. Wilson has a good track record as a offensive coordinator and he will improve Indiana's fortunes but it going to take a long time.
