Illinois ended the season in tenth place in the Big Ten, posting a 6-12 record in the conference. The Illini got off to a red-hot 10-0 start to begin the year, including wins over Maryland and then #18 Gonzaga. Among Illinois' other key victories were those against then #5 Ohio State and then #10 Michigan State during conference play.Among the key returning players for the Illini are 6-4 senior Brandon Paul, 6-3 senior D.J. Richardson, 6-5 junior Joseph Bertrand, 6-8 senior Tyler Griffey, 6-6 sophomore Myke Henry, 6-11 sophomore Nnanna Egwu and 6-6 sophomore Mike Shaw. Illinois has some quality recruits joining the team this coming season, including 6-2 Michael Orris, 6-10 Nnanna Egwu, 6-1 Tracy Abrams, 6-8 Mike Shaw, 6-6 Mycheal Henry and 6-5 Devin Langford.
