The Bulldogs responded by winning ten straight games and winning the SEC East title. Georgia lost the last two games of the season to LSU in the SEC title game and to Michigan State in the Outback Bowl.Quarterback Andy Murray emerged as a top flight signal caller as he threw for 35 touchdowns. Freshman Isaiah Crowell made several Freshmen All-American teams as he rushed for 850 yards. The defense only gave up 3.2 yards a carry. Many thought that Georgia could win the weakened SEC East in 2011 but would be handled by the SEC West champion. That is what happened but this year will be different The Bulldogs return 10 starters on defense including defensive tackle John Jenkins and linebacker Jarvis Jones. The secondary will also be solid. The offense will be explosive with Murray and Crowell. Wide receiver Tavarres King returns after averaging 14 yards a catch. There are some concerns on the offensive line and in the kicking game. Georgia lost both the starting punter and place kicker. Georgia will be the favorite in the SEC East. |
