2012 Panthers

The Florida Panthers played well this season and advanced to the playoffs. However, the team was defeated by the New Jersey Devils in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.  They hope that they can keep winning and make a run in the playoffs next season. The Panthers did not average as many goals as most other teams in the NHL this year.  In fact, they ranked 27th in goals per game.  But, Tomas Fleischmann (LW) scored 27 goals to lead the team.  Fleischmann played well all season, and he also had 34 assists on the year. Veteran Brian Campbell (D) led the team in assists, with 49 for the year. The Panthers hope that both Fleischmann and Campbell can play well again next season.  Jose Theodore (G) was the top goalie on a defense that ranked 12th in the NHL in goals against.  Theodore had a goals against average of 2.46 and a save percentage of .917.  Look for this verteran goalie to play well next season also.   The Panthers had their Stanley Cup hopes squashed by the New Jersey Devils.  Still, the team hopes that they will be back next season, fighting in the playoffs.
