2012 Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks finished the season with a record of 45-26-11 and advanced to the playoffs. However, they were defeated by the Phoenix Coyotes in the Western Conference Quarterfinals.  The Blackhawks hope they can earn another chance in the playoffs next season.The Blackhawks could score goals this season, averaging 2.9 goals per game, 5th highest in the NHL.  Patrick Sharp (C) was a solid goal scorer this year, leading the team with 33 goals, and producing 36 assists.  Marian Hossa (RW) also played well in his 13th season in the NHL.  Hossa had a team high 48 assists, and also scored 29 goals. Expect the Blackhawks to score a lot of goals again next season. Defensively, the Chicago Blackhawks were not quite as good.  The allowed an average of 2.8 goals per game, which was 22nd in the NHL.  Corey Crawford (G) and Ray Emery (G) hope that they can turn that around next year. Crawford had a save percentage of .903, while Emery had a save percentage of .900. The Chicago Blackhawks should be able to score another spot in the playoffs next season.  If they play better defensively, then the team will win a lot of games.  .
