Celine Dion

Celine Dion is a Canadian singer, songwriter, composer, and actress.  She is the best-selling Canadian artist of all time.  She is also the only female artist to have had two singles sell more than one million copies in the UK.  At one point, Dion was considered the second best-selling female artist in the United States.  Worldwide she has sold more than 200 million albums.

Celine Dion has often garnered mixed critical reviews for her albums and other work, but she has usually been praised for her powerful and skilled voice.  One of Dion's most successful singles is the love theme from the 1997 blockbuster film Titanic, "My Heart Will Go On."  The song won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song.  It also held heavy influence over Dion's winning of two Grammy Awards that year:  Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Record of the Year.

Dion has released eleven French albums, nine English albums, and three holiday albums.  In 1999 she received a star on the Canadian Walk of Fame, and in 2004 she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  She has also appeared on American and French television shows and movies, including the popular Fran Drescher sitcom The Nanny.  In 2007, Dion was ranked by Forbes magazine as the fifth richest woman in the entertainment business.  However, the rankings omitted those who were retired and non-working.  Dion received an honorary doctorate degree in music from Quebec City's Université Laval in 2008.

The Marvelous Career of Celine Dion

Born in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada on March 30, 1968, Celine Marie Claudette Dion aka Celine Dion, is the youngest among 14 children. She is regarded as one of the all-time great female singers. Through her fruitful career, she has sold over more than 220 million copies of her different albums. To this day, she is still recording and performing in front of fans all over the globe. 
With songs like "My Heart Will Go On" from the multi-awarded film "Titanic", A New Day Has Come, Because You Loved Me, and many more award-winning songs to her name, she has captivated fans across the globe. With 5 Grammy awards under her prolific career, and over a hundred more accolades, there is no brighter female star in the world like Celine Dion. In 2008, she was awarded the "World' Best Selling Female Recording Artist" of all time. 
In 2008 until February of 2009, Celine had her first global concert tour in over 9 years. By the end of the tour, she has traveled the world reaching 5 continents and 23 countries. There were more than 3 million people who attended the concert tour overall. Based on ticket sales alone, the Taking Chances World Tour was the 2nd best tour in 2008. 
Today Celine Dion is back at Caesars Palace for her 3-year residency show, Celine. It began on March 15, 2011, and will have 70 shows a year. Celine is also a known entrepreneur, with already 14 perfumes under her collection, Celine Dion Parfums, there is nothing this woman cannot do. Aside from her career, she is also a mother of 3, with a pair of twins name Nelson and Eddy. Celine truly is a one of a kind woman.
