Call Me Madam
People in the world today often lead very stressful lives. There are a lot of things that we have to pay attention to in life, and more and more often in today's world, our jobs and careers leave us wanting to get away for a bit. However, there are a few solutions to this stress, and one of the most effective is, without a doubt, a good laugh! In comes Call Me Madam, a far-fetched, but all-too-real depiction of what the world is like today, and more specifically, the every day lives of ordinary people. The story of Call Me Madam is actually based on a real-life person, who used to be a fund-raiser for a political party in the USA. However, when the story was being crafted, the writers paid careful attention not to offend the person too much but provide a real comedy to the fans. If that was on their minds when they made this play, then it most certainly should be a gut buster! The musical, created by Howard Lindsay, Russel Crouse, and Irving Berlin, is about a woman who works as a diplomat for the USA. She is stationed in a fictional European country, and when she gets there, well, you will have to see the show if you want to know what happens! This is a great show for those who have even a basic understanding of politics, or the current state of affairs in the US today. There is a lot of reading between-the-lines, and as such, it is a great show for anyone who enjoys tongue-in-cheek humor, and most especially parodies.
