Great Moments in Boston Bruins History

1996 - Ray Bourque records his 1,000th assist, becoming the fifth player in NHL history to do so and the first player to do it with one team. He also becomes the Bruins all-time leading point scorer. Adam Oates has a 20-game point-scoring streak. Between six goaltenders.
2002-2003 - Led by captain Joe Thornton, who recorded career-high 36-65=101 totals in 77 games, the Bruins finished up with a 36-31-11-4 record, taking the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference. It was an up-and-down season for the Bruins, who ran out to a 16-3-3-1 record in October and November, only to struggle through the winter. General Manager Mike O'Connell replaced head coach Robbie Ftorek behind the bench with nine games to play in the regular season and Providence head coach Mike Sullivan joined the team as an assistant coach. Jeff Hackett, Dan McGillis, and Ian Moran were added via trade to bolster the line-up, but the Bruins fell to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils in five games in the Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series.
