Los Angeles Lakers Face A Difficult Offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers go into the 2012-2013 NBA season with many unanswered questions. What will the team do with Paul Gasol or Andrew Bynum? The Lakers lost in the NBA Conference Semifinals to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 5 games. The team did win the division and was solid all through the playoffs. Here was how it broke down:

Pacific Division

————————————-W     L     PCT     GB     Home     Road     Div
Los Angeles Lakers        41     25     .621     –     26–7     15–18     9–5
Los Angeles Clippers     40     26     .606     1     24–9     16–17     7–7
Phoenix Suns                  33     33     .500     8     19–14     14–19     9–5
Golden State Warriors  23     43     .348     18     12–21     11–22     7–8
Sacramento Kings          22     44     .333     19     16–17     6–27     3–10

The team has Mike Brown returning as the head coach and Jerry Buss over seeing operations along with his son. The Lakers have a new rival in town as the Los Angeles Clippers has grabbed the attention of basketball fans around the country. The Clippers have Chris Paul and slam dunk champion Blake Griffin returning to the 2012 team. This will give the Lakers plenty of incentive to compete for the National spotlight and for Kobe Bryant to go for his 6th championship. After last year shortened season the teams will play the full 82 game season. Get NBA tickets and view the team schedules here.
