Austin Peay Governors
Austin Peay State University is located in Clarksville, Tennessee and is home to the Austin Peay Governors. The APSU Governors compete of the Ohio Valley Conference and are NCAA Division 1 for intercollegiate sports. The men and women compete in a combined 10 sports with multiple teams. The men field teams in baseball, basketball, football, golf, tennis, and cross-country. The women field teams in basketball, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, cross-country, and track & field.
In honor of the University's namesake, Austin Peay, the University's mascot, was given the title the Governors. A sea of red and white is a common site when in attendance at any sporting event at any of the athletic venues including the Governors Stadium, Raymond C. Hand Park, and the Dunn Center.
