The Hawks hope that they can keep developing as a team and improve on their recent success. Joe Johnson (SG) was an excellent scorer for Atlanta this season, averaging 18.8 points per game. He should be able to continue scoring next year for the team. The Hawks have an exciting player in Josh Smith (PF). Smith averaged 18 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game this season. If he keeps improving, then he will be a major force in the paint. Another player that has the potential to be a force in the paint is Al Horford (C). The 6'10" center averaged 12.4 points and 7 rebounds per game for the Hawks this season. Look for him to keep improving next season. 23-year-old Jeff Teague (PG) knows how to distribute the ball. Teague averaged 5 assists per game in his second season out of Wake Forest. He will likely be a solid point guard for years to come. Overall, the Atlanta Hawks played well this season, but they can certainly do better. With a relatively young squad, the Hawks should have more success next season. |
