The Crimson Tide in 2011 had the top rated defense in the nation. They led the nation in scoring, rushing, passing, and total defense. Running back Trent Richardson will be difficult to replace as he pounded defenses for over 1,700 yards. The offense was balanced as the Tide came within one yard per game on average in rushing and passing.Much Like LSU, Alabama returns four starters on the offensive line led by Barrett Jones who will switch to center in 2012. Alabama took a hit in their receiving corps and will have to replace their top four receivers from last season. Starting quarterback AJ McCarron returns and reserve running back Eddie Lacy averaged over 7 yards a carry last season. On defense Alabama has to replace 7 starters off of last seasons top rated unit. Much like LSU, the Crimson Tide has to replace a lot of key players. How soon the newcomers mature will determine the outcome of the 2012 season. |
