Air Force Falcons

Air Force Falcons - Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado the U.S. Air Force Academy is home to the Air Force Falcons. The intercollegiate program at USAFA consists of 27 different NCAA-sanctioned teams, 17 men's and 10 women's respectively. These teams compete as Division 1 members in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Sports teams for the men are baseball, football, basketball, ice hockey, soccer, fencing, golf, cross-country, gymnastics, lacrosse, indoor and outdoor track, wrestling, rifle, tennis, and soccer, water polo, swimming and diving. The women's teams at the Academy are soccer, tennis, basketball, cross-country, rifle, fencing, gymnastics, swimming and diving, volleyball, track and field. USAFA is also home to two non-NCAA affiliated sports programs: cheerleading and boxing, bringing the Academy's sport programs total to 29 sports.
Spotting a fan of the Air Force Falcon's is not a difficult one, as the blue & silver school colors, alongside the Falcon, is easily identifiable. Regardless of the venue, whether it is home locations such as the Falcon Stadium or Cadet Field House, or away events, the sea of blue & silver will symbolize Falcon Pride.

You really think that athletic activities and competitions are only for those whose career is geared towards becoming professional athletes, but no. Service men and women are into athletic competitions as well. The Air Force, the Army and Navy also have their own Commander-In-Chief's Trophy. Air Force Falcons, as the name implies, are the collegiate athletic teams that represents the United States Air Force. The intercollegiate programs has seventeen men's teams and ten women's teams which are all NCAA sanctioned (National Collegiate Athletic Association). They play against the Army and the Navy which have their own competing teams and eventually its winner will compete for the Commander-In-Chief Trophy. Quite interesting for the Air Force Falcons is that there are many sports that they can involve in.
For the men's teams they have wrestling, football, water polo, baseball, tennis, basketball, swimming and diving, ice hockey, soccer, cross-country, rifle, fencing, lacrosse, golf, indoor and outdoor track and gymnastics. And for the women's teams they have tennis and volleyball, basketball, soccer, cross-country, swimming and diving, fencing, indoor and outdoor track and gymnastics as well. All these are sanctioned by the NCAA. However, the Air Force Falcons also sponsors two events that are not sanctioned by NCAA. These are boxing and cheerleading. Schedules are on and tickets are available for the September 1 and September 8, championships. This is going to be Air Force Falcons versus Idaho State Bengals at Falcon Stadium, U.S.A.F. Academy, Colorado and Michigan Wolverines versus Air Force Falcons at the Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, Michigan; respectively. Get your tickets now!
